BPD on lookout for scam suspects

BROWNSBURG — Brownsburg Police say an unidentified black male and female have been scamming cashiers in the area and they’re hoping someone can identify the suspects from surveillance photos.

Police say the couple entered the Speedway Gas Station at 910 E. Main St. on Jan. 17, approached the counter, and asked for change for several bills. During the course of the exchange of bills between the suspect and the cashier, using sleight of hand and confusion, the suspects left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The couple reportedly left the area in a 2000 to ‘05 model tan or silver Chevrolet Impala.

On Jan. 26, police say the same man went into the Marsh Supermarket in Brownsburg and, using the same system, was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of money from the clerk at the

customer service desk.

The man reportedly left the area in the same tan or silver Chevrolet Impala.

Anyone with information on the crimes or who is able to identify the suspects is asked to contact the Brownsburg Police Department by e-mailing to brownsburgcrimetips@brownsburgpolice.org or by

calling Det. Joseph Fults at 852-1109 ext. 2126.
