Man found shot dead in west side home

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers are working the apparent homicide of 20-year-old Derik Tanner, found shot to death in a residence along the 1600 block of N. Livingston Ave.

About 10:37 p.m., police responded to a report of a person shot. When they got to the residence, they found Tanner's body.

Homicide detectives believe that Tanner had arrived at the residence just prior to the shooting. An autopsy is pending with the Marion County Coroner's Office.
