Brownsburg author hosts book signing Dec. 8

Roberta Hoffer, a local author, will be at the Brownsburg Public Library for a book signing at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 8.

Hoffer is a Pittsboro resident and has been the director and a teacher at Christ Lutheran Preschool in Brownsburg for the past 18 years. She has written several children’s books that were not published but instead dedicated to her grandson, Christian, for each one of his birthdays.

Silentheart is the first fiction novel published by Hoffer.

She will be giving a short talk about the book, followed by the book signing. Both soft and hard covers of the book will be available.

Silentheart was released in early November and is the first in what Hoffer refers to as her “vampire trilogy.”

“I have written this book using no improper language to be able to reach a wider audience. I have also purposely left a few errors in the book to remind us that none of us are perfect creatures ... be us mortal or immortal,” she said in a press release.

She said Silentheart is a love story with the struggle of good versus evil mixed with the reality of events and people that came from her own family. She will discuss the surprises she came across when doing genealogy work on her family and how she adapted it into her novel.
