Eagle Creek Park hosts ‘Celebration of Nature’

Celebrate nature’s beauty with Eagle Creek Park this December as they host their annual “Celebration of Nature” Art Exhibit and Sale inside the Earth Discovery Center located within the park, 5901 Delong Road, Indianapolis.

This multimedia exhibit is on display from Dec. 5 to 13 during regular Earth Discovery Center hours which are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The show is free with regular park admission of $5 per car.

Guests will enjoy original artwork in various art forms. The “Celebration of Nature” exhibit will feature everything from paintings and photographic prints, to sculptures, woodcarvings to fabrics and other three-dimensional artwork. Each piece will depict wildlife, landscapes and nature in its purest form.

Both amateur and professional artists will be featured in this exhibit, as well as many artists who have participated in various art exhibits at Eagle Creek Park during 2009, including Woodcarvers and Woodturners Exhibition, Renditions of Nature and Images of Nature.

Most of the artwork within the exhibit will be offered for sale — just in time for the holidays — with 15 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Eagle Creek Park Foundations “Arts at the Creek” series.

The Eagle Creek Park Foundation, established in 1978, is a 2,500-member not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhance, promote, preserve and protect one of the nation’s largest municipal parks.
