Hendricks County is offering a free H1N1 clinic 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 24 at Preferred Home Health, 5250 E. U.S. 36, Suite 840, in Avon.
The clinic is open to individuals who fall into the following priority groups:
• Pregnant women
• Household contacts/caregivers of those younger than 6 months
• Infants and children 6 months to 24 years of age
• Health care and emergency workers
• Those 25 to 64 years old with pre-existing, chronic medical conditions
Both injectable vaccine and flu mist will be available. There also will be a limited amount of vaccine available for children ages 6 months and older.
In the last few weeks, the Hendricks County Health Department has conducted school-based clinics in Avon, Plainfield, Danville, Brownsburg, and Mill Creek schools. Nearly 15,000 people have been vaccinated for H1N1 in Hendricks County through clinics and private providers. Once the priority groups have been vaccinated, clinics will open to anyone who chooses to be vaccinated.
