An Indianapolis man was injured Friday afternoon when the semi-tractor trailer he was driving rolled over on the Ameriplex south exit ramp from westbound I-70.
Indiana State Police responded to the accident about 2:40 p.m.
Police say that Garald Huckleberry, 56, was westbound at the 68 mile marker on I-70 in a 2006 Mack semi-tractor with a box trailer. Huckleberry apparently entered the curve of the Ameriplex south ramp too fast and lost control. The vehicle went off the off the roadway and turned on to the driver’s side.
Huckleberry, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis to be treated for face lacerations and complaint of pain to his neck, shoulder, and back.
The semi-tractor and trailer is registered to the U.S. Postal Service. The trailer was carrying pallets.
The left lane of the exit ramp was shut down for about two and a half hours while the vehicle was up righted. Traffic on I-70 westbound was not affected.
Assisting ISP were the Plainfield Police Department, Plainfield Fire Department, Indiana Department of Transportation, and Garner’s Wrecker Service.
