HCCVB accepting info for 2010 events guide

The Hendricks County Convention and Visitors Bureau (HCCVB) is now accepting information for the 2010 Events Guide brochure, and also for the up-to-the-minute events calendar on the website, www.TourHendricksCounty.com.

“The Fast Track to Fun Event Guide is the number one requested visitor information piece,” Jaime Bohler Smith, associate director for the HCCVB, said. “With over 500 unique events right here, visitors can have experiences that promote family fun, culture, motorsports, history, and education in an affordable destination with great location.”

Any special event in Hendricks County may be submitted for inclusion on the HCCVB websites, including TourHendricksCounty.com and HendricksCountyCalendar.com, which has unlimited listing potential. The printed events guide contains more than 100 local events, and is limited because of available space. It will be available for distribution in March 2010.

All submissions must include the event name, date, time, location, contact, contact phone, and a short description. Other information that would be necessary if available would be admission charges, contact website and e-mail, and sponsor details. Forms may be found on the website in the Press Room at www.TourHendricksCounty.com/press-room.asp.

Tracy Whetstone, community events manager for the HCCVB, said, “In 2009 we distributed over 70,000 copies of the guide, and had over 450,000 views of the online calendar. We plan to continue increasing the amount of information available to the residents and visitors by continuing to place these guides in locations not only in Hendricks County, but throughout the central Indiana community and the Midwest region.”

To submit an event, call the HCCVB at 718-8750, fax to 718-9913, or e-mail to Tracy@TourHendricksCounty.com. Submissions must be received by Jan. 15, 2010, to be considered for the printed events guide, but submissions are accepted throughout the year for the website calendar.

The Hendricks County Tourism Commission, doing business as the Hendricks County Convention and Visitors Bureau, attracts visitors to the county by promoting and developing tourism, to stimulate economic growth and enhance the quality of life here.

The HCCVB can also be found on Facebook by searching Hendricks County Convention and Visitors Bureau and becoming a “fan” for event updates and reminders, contest info, and more.
