BROWNSBURG — A 35-year-old man was arrested on 16 counts of possession of child pornography Thursday.
Jason T. Krockenberger was arrested at his home in the 1000 block of East County Road 450 North, Brownsburg.
The arrest came after Krockenberger had taken his computer to a local Brownsburg business for repair. After discovering what he believed to be child pornography videos, the proprietor of the store contacted police on June 18. Following an interview with the owner and an employee of the business, police obtained a search warrant for the computer.
Brownsburg detectives, along with members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, completed a forensics preview examination and discovered numerous child pornography videos and images.
Det. Jennifer Pyatt said the videos are all believed to have been obtained over the Internet.
According to police, Krockenberger came in voluntarily for an interview with Brownsburg detectives, where he admitted to being in possession of child pornography videos on his home computer and his laptop computer.
Krockenberger, who is a teacher at Pike High School in Indianapolis, also admitted to detectives that he would take his laptop with him to the school and view them there.
Pyatt said each of the 16 counts are class D felonies and each holds a maximum punishment of a year and a half in prison and a $10,000 fine. However, she said that the investigation is still continuing and Krockenberger could face more charges.
Krockenberger was booked at the Hendricks County Jail in Danville and later released on $5,000 bond.
