AVON —
As the Indianapolis Colts prepare for their pre-season publicity campaign, and their “Make it Personal Tour,” fans here have a reason to get excited.
The fifth destination of the 15-location tour will stop at the AAA Hoosier Motor Club’s Avon office from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday.
“Obviously, being affiliated with the Colts in a positive thing,” said Greg Seiter, public affairs manager with AAA. “We cherish the opportunity to share in the celebration. (The tour) is beneficial to the community, the fans, the Colts, and AAA.”
The event will include Colts player and cheerleader appearances, the Colts in Motion traveling museum, Colts activity inflatables, giveaways, a merchandise trailer, sponsor booths, and an opportunity to win Colts tickets.
Seiter said he thinks that the Colts have a similar philosophy as AAA.
“The Colts do a fabulous job of getting out in the community,” he said. “That mirrors our efforts in working together to excel and get our name out in the community to address people’s services and concerns.”
He also thinks that the benefit to the business is just to inform people of the location and the services that they offer.
“It brings people to or near our branch office,” Seiter said. “Some of them have never stepped foot in there before. It gives us an opportunity to make them aware of our services. It’s like running an open house.”
Preparing for an event such as this is nothing new to the AAA location. Seiter said that they typically host two to three per year. These include the Colts, on-site radio stations, and the IRL — which featured a visit from Sarah Fisher.
“There is certainly work making sure that the Colts have an adequate and enough space,” he said. “It is well coordinated by the Colts. Aside from making sure that they have adequate space, they do most of it.”
In addition, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles mobile branch will be on hand from 3 to 6:30 p.m. BMV services available at the mobile branch include the ability to purchase a limited number of Colts specialty license plates, driver’s license renewals, issuance of identification cards, vehicle registration renewals, and title transactions. New driver’s license issuances and CDL’s will not be available due to driver test requirements.
The BMV is typically closed on Mondays, but they are making a special exception with the “Make it Personal Tour.”
