PLAINFIELD — State police arrested a correctional officer from the Indiana Department of Correction’s Reception-Diagnostic Center earlier this week on charges of possessing methamphetamines.
Lisa Powers, public information officer for the RDC, said Correctional Officer Roy Dicus was arrested Sunday at his home in Owen County. She said troopers found a methamphetamine lab in Dicus’ garage, along with some other drugs.
Powers said Dicus had worked for the RDC since 1991, supervising offenders. She said there was no indication that Dicus was supplying drugs to offenders.
Powers said Dicus has been suspended from the RDC without pay.
“He will remain suspended pending the outcome of the charges and/or the outcome of our administrative investigation,” she added.
Dicus has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, class A felony; possession of methamphetamine while in possession of a firearm, class C felony; and maintaining a common nuisance, class D felony.
