With the Nov. 6 election quickly approaching, the Hendricks County Election Board is reminding voters of important absentee dates and deadlines. They're encouraging early absentee voting during the month of October to avoid long lines on Election Day and save on paper and postage.
Call 745-9313 to request an absentee application. After receipt of the application, a ballot will be issued by mail. The deadline to receive an application is Oct. 29.
In-person early voting begins Oct. 8 and ends Nov. 2 outside of the voter registration office at the Hendricks County Government Center, 355 S. Washington St., Danville. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Special Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 27 and Nov. 3. There will also be early voting from 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 5.
Citizens needing transportation to vote may call 745-9313 for arrangements.
The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 9 and may be done online at IndianaVoters.com.
