BW3’s holding fundraiser

BROWNSBURG — The Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant here is taking its Eat Wings, Raise Funds campaign to a new, blue level.

On Monday, the restaurant will hold an all day fund raising marathon in honor of the Indianapolis Colts Chuck Strong program. The restaurant will donate 15 percent of all food sales that day to the Leukemia Society, in honor of Colts head coach Chuck Pagano who is currently undergoing treatment for the disease.

Sarah Svihlik, general manager of the restaurant, said that in addition to the promotion, at 8 p.m. there will be a hot wing eating contest where contestants will see who can eat 12 of BW3’s hottest wings in the shortest amount of time. There will be a prize for the winner.

“We came up with this about three weeks ago,” Svihlik said. “I saw someone wearing a Chuck Strong T-shirt and said ‘why don’t we do this?’”

Svihlik said more than half of the restaurant’s staff is agreeing to work on a night they otherwise wouldn’t simply because they believe in the cause.

“We’ve done fundraisers with local sports teams in the past, to help them raise money, and this just made sense,” she said. “We like to give back to the community.”

Buffalo Wild Wings in Brownsburg is at 1551 N. Green St. For more information, call 456-4982.
