INDIANAPOLIS — CHRISTmas @ the River will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 15, or until supplies are gone, at River of Life Church, 6001 Kentucky Ave., Indianapolis.
This is the fourth year for the event designed to help the community, and organizers say it continues to grow each year. More than 2,000 people attended last year.
The goal is to have 30,000 pounds of food, clothes, and other items available to those in need. Items will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
Santa Claus and some of his elves will be onsite to visit with children and pose for photos.
Two members of the Indiana Pacemates will be there from 7:30 to 8 a.m. and four members of the Indiana Fever Inferno dance team will be there from 10 to 11 a.m.
Contributions to the cause are still being accepted. Monetary donations are needed and may be dropped off at the church or made online at http://www.rolc.cc/. Also needed are non-perisable food items; new or gently used hats, gloves, coats; and toys. Those items may be dropped off at the church or at Great Harvest Food Pantry, 2516 Stop 11 Road, Indianapolis.
