STILESVILLE — Hendricks County Deputies arrested two suspects early Wednesday morning after they were caught burglarizing a business here.
After receiving a call about a report of suspicious males in the area, Deputy Josh Nohren was dispatched to 6067 W. U.S. 40 at about 2 a.m.
While checking local businesses on foot, he saw two men dressed in dark clothing attempting to gain entry into a cash register at Showtime Tanning and Family Care. Nohren said that when he confronted the suspects — William T. Johnson and Roman N. Sital, both 20 and both from Danville — they fled the area on foot.
“(After they were found), both of the suspects fled the scene,” said Lt. Jim Yetter, the public information officer for the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department. “Deputy Nohren had seen them and was able to ID them after he put his flashlight on them. One of the suspects fled out of the back and the other later went through a window into an alley.”
Additional officers were then called to the scene to assist in locating the suspects. Sgt. Kell Miles located each of the suspects in separate locations within a few miles of the business.
“One of the suspects was located south of the business and the other was located a couple of miles west of the business,” Yetter said.
Johnson and Sital were taken into custody and transported to the Hendricks County Jail in Danville. After questioning and investigation of their vehicle, police say they discovered that both suspects were involved in a burglary that occurred the night before at the Amo General Store.
“Both of the suspects admitted to (the Stilesville burglary),” Yetter said. “Investigators located their vehicle behind the business, which was registered to one of the suspects. When they searched it, they found incriminating evidence linking them to the burglary at the Amo General Store.”
Johnson and Sital admitted to breaking into both businesses and have been charged with two counts of burglary, theft, and resisting law enforcement. They are being held on $100,000 bonds.
