Purdue Club to
host fundraiser
The Purdue Alumni Club of Hendricks County is having a fundraiser Oct. 14 at Monical’s Pizza at 9271 E. U.S. 36, Avon.
The restaurant will donate 20 percent of each check accompanied by a flyer to the club. Flyers may be printed from the club’s website at www.purduealum.org/hendricks.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used for scholarships for Hendricks County students attending or planning to attend Purdue University.
Sorority plans scrapbooking event
Gamma Pi Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha will hold its second annual Cropping in the Tropics scrapbooking program from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 23 at the IMG building, 2960 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis. The building is across the street from the Indianapolis Children’s Museum.
The cost for a six-foot table is $20 and includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, desserts, and drinks.
There will be consultants from Stampin’ Up, Close to my Heart, and Creative Memories. Each consultant will have a “make and take project.” They will also have merchandise for sale.
There will also be chair messages available.

Brownsburg Lions
serving breakfast
The Brownsburg Lions Club is hosting its monthly breakfast from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at Bundy Lodge in Arbuckle Acres Park.
Cost is $6 and the menu includes homemade items like biscuits and gravy, eggs, and pancakes.
To help with their ongoing collection of eyeglasses, the Lions are offering a discount to anyone who donates one or more pairs. Discounts are also available for anyone who finds an error on the Lions’ website at www.brownsburglions.org.
The all-you-can-eat breakfast is cooked to order and served by the Lions, who will also be available to answer questions and talk about upcoming projects.
A meeting schedule and a list of projects and future monthly breakfast times are also available on the club’s website.
The club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at the Lions Club House in Arbuckle Acres Park at 200 N. Green St., Brownsburg.

lists October events
The Brownsburg chapter of Order of Eastern Star will meet at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Brownsburg Masonic Temple, 314 E. College Ave.
Information about Operation Christmas will be distributed, refreshments will be provided by Cindy Wyse and Norma Swisher, and order of nuts from Terri Lynn will be taken.
The chapter will also be hosting an Oktoberfest progressive euchre party Oct. 23, also at the lodge. Advance tickets are $10 each and are available from OES members or by calling 416-9121, 299-8337, 852-9037, or 852-5996.
The party begins with a dinner at 6 p.m., followed by euchre play at 7:15 p.m.
The menu will include brats, sauerkraut, German potato salad, and apple desserts. Snacks and beverages will be available throughout the evening.
