Maureene Chenu and Walter Harris Sr. of Plainfield are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary.
The couple was married in 1962 in Grahamsville, N.Y.
Mrs. Harris is a homemaker. Mr. Harris worked as an iron worker and volunteer firefighter and is U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
They are the parents and in-laws of Rachel Harris and husband Rich of Old Bridge, N.J., and Walter Harris Jr. and wife Shannon of Danville. They are the grandparents of Blair Harris and husband Steven of Columbus, Reid Harris of Danville, and Carl Sweatt of Old Bridge, N.J. They are the great-grandparents of Emery Hickam of Columbus.
Mr. and Mrs. Harris will be feted at an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 12 at Sugar Grove Retirement Center, 5865 Sugar Lane, Plainfield.
