from basic training
U.S. Air Force Airman Joshua M. Rainey graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
Rainey completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
He is the son of Starling Rainey of Plainfield, and the grandson of Bobby Jean Hall of Gary. Rainey is a 2008 graduate of Cascade High School.

U.S. Air Force Airman Christopher V. Love graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of Maria Love of Danville and is a 2007 graduate of Tri-West High School.

U.S. Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Wyatt R. Mason graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
Mason completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Mason is a 2008 graduate of Avon High School. He is the son of Dawn Mason of Avon.

Guardsman finishes
basic training
U.S. Army National Guard Pvt. Andrew M. Voiles graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.
During nine weeks of training, he studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Voiles is a 2009 graduate of Brownsburg High School. He is the son of Karen and Kenny Moore of Brownsburg and the late James Voiles.
Army specialist
arrives at Atterbury
U.S. Army National Guard Spec. Amber L. Weaver has arrived at the Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center as a member of the 38th Infantry Division’s Task Force Cyclone to complete mobilization training for a future deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
The 38th Infantry Division is an Army National Guard division based in Indianapolis.
Task Force Cyclone’s mission is to provide assistance to the Afghan government in security, construction, economic, and agricultural support in assigned areas of operations. They will also facilitate the reception, training, housing, and sustainment of U.S. troops entering the country.
While at the training center, soldiers work on individual training, weapons qualifications, driver’s training, medical training, Humvee rollover training, and other training tasks in preparation for their future deployment.
Weaver is a paralegal specialist and has served in the military for five years.
She is the daughter of Misty L. and the stepdaughter of John J. Madden of Daville. She is a 2006 graduate of Danville Community High School.
