Plainfield resident enlists in Air Force

Howard D. Vanover III of Plainfield recently enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.

Upon successful completion of the Air Force’s six-week basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base near San Antonio, Texas, Vanover is scheduled to receive training in the general area as an aerospace maintenance apprentice. He enlisted under the Air Force’s six-year program and upon completion of his technical training will receive a promotion E-3.

Vanover will be earning credits toward an associate degree in applied sciences through the Community College of the Air Force while attending basic and technical training schools.
