PHS grad hopes to teach 'energy management’

INDIANAPOLIS —

A Plainfield High School graduate has started a business to spread the word about what she calls “energy management.” Amber Delwey has written a book and will soon be giving a workshop close to Hendricks County.

Her business, The Amber Light, offers a Personal Power Party that is meant to teach people about enhancing their lives. It also includes home fragrances, astrology, and gemstones.

“The Amber Lights is evolving over time,” Delwey said. “I’ve added a fragrance line and have been able to lower our prices.”

She has written a book entitled, The Best Thing: Placing Your Order with the Universe.

“The book is based on my energy practices,” she said. “I talk about the circumstances in our lives and how we can use them to attract more abundance based on energy.”

She said this “unseen universal energy” is accessible to anyone.

“The book is a kind of easy-to-read user manual,” Delwey said. “The simplest tools are readily available to us. I’d say with 50 percent of the tools, there is nothing to purchase. You just have to know the right visualization and affirmations to use.”

She said one powerful tool is to place a hand over your chest and hold it there for two or three minutes.

“Breath slowly and it releases oxytocin, which is what causes us to feel loved,” she said. “And feeling loved — how healthy is that?!”

Delwey was born and raised in Plainfield. She graduated from Plainfield High School in 1984 and her mother, Carol Thommen, still lives in town.

“My mom helped me to edit my book,” she said. “I did self-publish, which was an interesting undertaking. I used my family as guinea pigs. They’ve been very supportive.”

She said the goal of her book is to make it simple, so the average person could put it to use daily.

“Every person has an intuition,” Delwey said. “There is a sense we have that we can hone to improve our lives.”

Delwey is a life coach as well and does gem stone healing therapy.

“Now I’m not a licensed massage therapist,” she said. “I use the gem stone to help with pain. It is so gentle that there’s nothing detrimental could ever happen.”

She said her mother had pain problems she has been able to help by using gem stone healing.

Delwey will be hosting a workshop entitled “The Easy Way to Feng-Shui” at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 29 at All My Relations, 7218 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, just east of Avon. For more information, call the store at 227-9325.

Cost of the workshop is $15 and includes a workbook and an opportunity to have a floor plan drawn to know where to put shapes and colors at home. Participants will also have a chance to purchase The Best Thing: Placing Your Order with the Universe to get started in balancing and enhancing spaces.

For more information, e-mail Delwey at theamberlight@comcast.net.
