  Police were dispatched about 12:30 a.m. to the corner of West 21st Street and Historic Oaks Way after receiving a call of a female in distress.

• Towns cancel public fireworks displays

  Town officials in Danville and Brownsburg have decided to cancel public fireworks displays associated with their July 4th festivals because of the extremely dry conditions and high temperatures. In Danville's case, their entire July 4th festival has been postponed.

• Passenger killed in two-vehicle crash

  Indiana State Police Troopers and Putnam County emergency agencies responded to a two-vehicle crash in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday. The crash involved a cement truck and a sport utility vehicle.

  Monday was Emily Giles’ 26th birthday. But by the end of the day, officers with the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department were investigating her murder and the subsequent suicide attempt by her husband, Michael Giles, 37.
