PLAINFIELD — William M. Woodruff, 76, of Plainfield, was walking south across Stanley Road at Chad Court around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday when a blue Ford Crown Victoria, westbound on Stanley Road, struck him.
Officers and ambulances arrived on the scene and transported Woodruff to Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis, where he died of injuries received in the crash.
Authorities say Woodruff was just out for a routine morning walk.
Plainfield accident investigators are still investigating the crash and any factors that might have played a role. The name of the driver has not yet been released.
Lt. Jill Lees with the Plainfield Police Department said they had no more information as of press time.
