Brenda Morris-Ford and Arvist “Ray” Ford Sr. of Danville are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
The couple was married Sept. 16, 1961, by a justice of the peace in Indianapolis.
Mrs. Ford was a homemaker who had also worked at RCA in Indianapolis, Avon Schools, and Tendercare Nursing Home (Danville Rehab) in Danville. She attends New Beginnings
Non-denominational Church in Plainfield where she sings and teaches.
Mr. Ford retired from General Motors Truck and Bus in Indianapolis in 2001, after 30 years. He also served in the U.S. Army in the late 1950s.
They are the parents and in-laws of Ray Ford Jr. of Danville, Lorna Ford-Rigney and husband Carlos of Fillmore, and Shannon Ford-Pietraszewski and husband Wayne of LaPorte.
They are the grandparents of Jonathon Elliott of Danville, Shane Rigney of LaPorte, Matthew Rigney of Fillmore, and April Rigney of Fillmore; and the great-grandparents of Madilyn Elliott of Oakgrove,
Ky., and Jonathon Elliott II of Greencastle.
The Fords will be feted at an open house at their home at 2 p.m. Sept. 10.
