Himmelheber anniversary

Mrs. and Mrs. John W. Himmelheber of Plainfield will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 3.

John Himmelheber and the former Darleen Meece were married Nov. 3, 1951, at the Chrisney Methodist Church in Spencer County.

Mr. Himmelheber retired in 1990 after working 39 years as a high school teacher and principal. He also served from 1992 to ‘98 on the Plainfield Town Council.

Mrs. Himmelheber worked inseveral school superintendents’offices, sold real estate, and retired in 1996 as property manager of the Indiana Department of Transportation.

They are the parents of Darla Smiley of Corpus Christi, Texas, Galen G. Himmelheber of Speedway, and John D. Himmelheber of New York, N.Y.
