Foggatt anniversary

Charles and Sandra (Klingensmith) Foggatt celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 9.

Both are graduates of Plainfield High School and were married in Plainfield in June of 1962. They began their life together in West Lafayette, living in married student housing at Purdue University as Mr. Foggatt finished up his degree in aeronautical engineering. Mrs. Foggatt also completed her education and was employed as a registered nurse and health care manager for many years, at one point working in the prestigious trauma unit at the University of Michigan Medical Center to provide financial support while her husband completed his master’s degree.

Upon graduation, the young couple moved to Houston, where he accepted a job with NASA and was an integral part of the Apollo 11 project that placed a man on the moon for the first time. Along with making a crucial contribution to one of the key moments in the history of the world, the couple started a family.

A son, Stephen Charles, was born in 1966 and Pamela Jean followed in Ô69. Soon after that, the family moved back to the Midwest, and Mr. Foggatt began an executive career with Public Service Indiana which lasted until his retirement in the early ‘90s.

In the mid ‘80s, he embarked on a parallel career in residential development, and he is responsible for a wide range of subdivisions throughout Central Indiana, including Diamondale, Forest Commons, Black Creek Park, and the newly created Wexford community in Danville.

In recent years, the couple has enjoyed taking extended trips in their RV, visiting various locales across the country and spending significant time in Florida.

They are the grandparents of Kayla, Evan, Tyler, and Justin, and have two cats, Tiggy and Daisy.
