Jerry and Sandy (Martin) Burnell of Ruskin, Fla., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 2 to 4:30 p.m. July 12 at the Pittsboro Park at an open house hosted by their children.
The couple was married Sept. 20, 1959, at Pittsboro Baptist Church.
Mr. Burnell retired from Consolidated Freightways after 30 years. Mrs. Burnell worked 30 years as a nurse before retiring.
They are the parents and in-laws of Jeff Burnell and fiancé Jessica of Indianapolis, Brad and Laurie Burnell of Avon, and Amy and Gary Gregory of Pittsboro. They Burnells also have 14 grandchildren, six step grandchildren, and seven step great-grandchildren.
