Baxters celebrate 50 years
James and Barbara (Moran) Baxter of Plainfield were married July 23, 1959, at Mt. Olive Methodist Church in Indianapolis.
Mr. Baxter is retired from Detroit Diesel, Allison Division with 36 years of service. After retiring, he worked 22 years as a track tour bus driver for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Mrs. Baxter retired from Ben Davis Junior High School where she worked 25 years as a secretary to the principal.
They have two children, Melinda (Jay) Kelley of Indianapolis, and J. Mike (Melissa) Baxter of Wisconsin. They also have five grandchildren, Erin (Nick) Roseboom of Coatesville, Brian (Jennifer) Fox of Ohio, Brock, Dylan, and Logan Baxter of Wisconsin; and three great-grandsons, Trevor and Brody Roseboom and Baylor Fox.
They celebrated with a family dinner at the Iron Skillet.
