Erin Catherine Vickery-Swalley and Zachary James Toothman, both of Plainfield, are planning a June 12 wedding in Plainfield.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mark and Mary Jo Vickery of Plainfield. She is a 2001 graduate of Avon High School. She attended IUPUI and graduated with a degree in general studies in 2006 and also ran cross country for the Jaguars. Following graduation, she returned to IUPUI to earn a degree in special education/elementary education and graduated in 2008. She works as a special education teacher at McClelland Elementary School in Wayne Township and is the head girls’ cross country coach and assistant girls’ track coach at Ben Davis High School.
The prospective groom is the son of Beth Foutz-Bilohlavek of Cannelton and Jim Toothman of Tell City. He is a 2000 graduate of Tell City High School and attended the University Southern Indiana where he ran cross country and track for the Eagles. He graduated in 2005 and received a master’s degree in school psychology from the University of Dayton in 2008. He works as a school psychologist for RISE Special Services in Indianapolis and is an assistant boys’ cross country coach and boys’ assistant track coach at Ben Davis High School.
They plan to be married by Elizabeth Gilbert of the Plainfield United Methodist Church.
The couple met while working as camp counselors at Brahm’s Running Camp and continue to be active in the running community and train and race in distances from 5K to marathon level.
